Social Activities
Volunteers help organise and run social activities within our housing schemes:
- Lunch clubs
- Games & craft sessions
- Teas & coffees
- Group outings
- Reminiscence groups
Befriending
Bield befrienders visit a specific individual on a regular basis, who may be isolated or needs some extra support. Befrienders can:
- Provide companionship
- Share mutual hobbies and interests
- Escort for outings or appointments
Silver Surfer Tutor
Our Silver Surfer Tutors volunteer within housing schemes, teaching computer skills to service users on the scheme computer equipment.
- Teach services users all about computers
- Help service users make use of Web sites
- Introduce the concept of email to stay in touch with family and friends
- Hold regular support sessions to encourage use of the internet
