Message from Brian Logan, Chief Executive
Bield is embarking on a process for the development of a business strategy for the coming five years. This is a unique opportunity to explore a range of possibilities for our future.
Being open to changing how we go about our work may well be very important to our future as an organisation. Not only is the public funding environment tougher, and the competition for funds increasing, the people to whom we provide our services are also changing. Their expectations of us are changing. Starting immediately and throughout the coming months, we will explore these challenges and we will think through how best to convert these into real opportunities for Bield.
However, while we will seek to respond to changes in our operating environment, we know Bield’s future will also be a story of continuity: of continued commitment to quality, to valuing people – both staff and services users – and a commitment to the dignity of all those whom we serve.
We now begin this process of review, analysis and forward planning. Our aim is to deliver – for Board approval in March next year – a business strategy that will take Bield forward successfully to 2016.
We are calling this process “Bielding the Future” and this process will evolve over the coming months.
Planning for the future is just common sense. When the future is relatively less predictable, planning in the right way is essential. This process will help to ensure that we are doing our best to secure Bield’s sustained success over the longer term.
