Care Commission

The Care Commission was set up in April 2002 under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 to regulate all adult, child and independent health care services in Scotland.

Bield have a number of services regulated by the Care Commission, these include Care Homes, Home and Day Care Services and Housing Support Services

The Care Commission makes sure that care service providers meet the Scottish Government's National Care Standards and work to improve the quality of care.

The overall aim of the Care Commission isto raise standards of care by involving people who are cared for, their families and carers and those who provide care. They aim to

      • be an effective regulator for improvement
      • engage people who use care services and carers in the work of the Care Commission
      • provide the right information at the right time for people
      • inform social and health care policy
