Will I be able to choose what I do?
We will do our best to match your interests and skills to our activities in your local area.
Will I receive training?
Volunteers are required to attend a group induction day and will complete e-learning as part of their training. This will enable you to carry out your role effectively and to our normal high standards. Support will also be offered by the housing development Manager and the Volunteer Team.
Will I get ongoing support?
Your manager will give you the support you need to carry out your tasks and answer any queries or concerns. We ask that you meet your manager at least twice annually to have a chat about how you are getting on in your role. The Volunteer Team are always on hand too if you need additional support.
How much time to I need to give?
We usually ask for a commitment of a couple of hours a week. However, we will try to tailor your commitment to suit the time you have available. We sometimes have roles for those who can’t commit weekly, but perhaps fortnightly or once a month, and some volunteers help with one-off events throughout the year.
Are my expenses covered?
Although you won’t be paid, we aim to meet all reasonable expenses to make sure you’re not out of pocket. An expense claim form will be provided when you start your role.
Can I get a reference?
We can provide a reference if you would like one. Please speak to your Manager.
