Tenants share what community means to them for Scottish Housing Day

For Scottish Housing Day 2025 (Wednesday 17th September), we asked our tenants one important question: “What does community mean to you?”

Their responses, part of our What community means to me campaign, shine a light on the people, places, and connections that make our developments feel like home.

As part of our "What community means to me" campaign, tenants across our developments are sharing their personal thoughts on what makes a place feel like home and what creates real connections with neighbours.

This year's Scottish Housing Day theme focuses on good neighbours and strong communities, something that's at the heart of what we do every day. For our tenants across Scotland, strong community connections are essential for living independently and maintaining wellbeing.

The responses have been touching and insightful. From friendly daily greetings and shared gardens, to knowing someone is there when you need them most, our tenants are capturing what creates genuine belonging in their communities.

These aren't just nice words on placards, they're insights that help us understand what works well and what we can improve. Just like our recent tenant feedback led to improvements including roof repairs, enhanced cleaning standards, and policy reviews, these community insights will inform how we develop our services going forward.

The portraits and responses will be shared across our social media channels and website throughout Scottish Housing Day week, celebrating the voices of our tenants and highlighting the strong sense of community that exists within our developments.
