We are looking for passionate people to help shape the future of housing, care and support for older people across Scotland by joining our Board.
We are currently recruiting two new professional Board Members and one Tenant Board Member, offering a unique opportunity to help guide Bield's strategic direction and ensure older people's voices remain at the heart of decision-making.
As Scotland's population continues to age, Bield is committed to providing high-quality housing, care and community services that enable people to live independently, safely and with dignity. Strong governance is central to achieving that ambition, and we are seeking individuals who can bring a range of skills, experience and perspectives to our Board.
Professional Board Members
We are looking to appoint two new Board Members and are particularly keen to hear from people with expertise in Finance and Human Resources.
Whether your background is in strategic financial leadership, audit and risk, treasury and funding, workforce planning, organisational development or people leadership, your knowledge could help shape the future of services for older people across Scotland.
Previous Board experience is not essential. We welcome applications from people who share our values, bring fresh thinking and are committed to making a positive difference.
Tenant Board Member
Alongside the professional appointments, we are also seeking a Tenant Board Member to ensure the experiences and views of tenants continue to influence important decisions.
This voluntary opportunity is open to Bield tenants who want to help improve services for older people. No previous governance or Board experience is required, with full training, mentoring and ongoing support provided.
As a Tenant Board Member, you'll work alongside fellow Board Members to help shape the future of the organisation while ensuring tenants' voices are heard where it matters most.
Making a difference together
Board Members play an important role in providing strategic leadership, supporting good governance and helping Bield continue to respond to the changing needs of older people across Scotland.
Meetings take place six times a year, alternating between our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, with opportunities to participate in Board committees that meet online throughout the year. Reasonable expenses are reimbursed, and all Board Members receive learning and development opportunities to help them succeed in the role.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Whether your experience comes from your professional career or your lived experience as a tenant, your contribution could help shape the future of services for older people across Scotland.
